Friday’s biggest pro days took place at Ohio State and at Texas A&M, while FIU has some top players in their class, but there were some other notable players around the country that will hear their name called in April.
Pro day roundup, March 8: Jamie Collins, JC Tretter sit, Jasper Collins runs 4.47
Outside of the major pro days on Friday, Jamie Collins opted to sit through Southern Miss’ day, while Jasper Collins showed why he should have been invited to the NFL Combine.
Southern Miss
The biggest player for the Golden Eagles after their 0-12 season this past year was outside linebacker Jamie Collins, who had an incredible combine. He didn’t risk a drop-off from the numbers he posted in Indianapolis Friday, opting to sit out of Southern Miss’ Pro Day, per NFL’s Gil Brandt. He’ll have teams come visit him in a private workout.
Offensive tackle Jason Weaver is a likely late-round pick, and improved very slightly on his combine numbers in Hattiesburg, managing one more rep on the bench press -- 24 -- and improving his 40-yard dash by about a 10th of a second with runs of 5.33 and 5.35.
Mount Union
Jasper Collins -- no relation to Jamie, by the way -- is a possible late-round pick who showed off at the East-West Shrine Game, but was one of the biggest snubs to the combine. He tried to show why he should have been invited on Friday:

4.47 isn’t a top time for a wide receiver -- probably around middle of the pack -- and at 5’10, Collins might have wanted to perform even a little better. But it’s not a bad showing at all.
Cornell
The player to watch for here was JC Tretter, an offensive guard projected by CBS to go in the fourth or fifth round. He didn’t have a great combine -- 29 reps on bench press, 5.03 40, 109-inch broad jump -- but those numbers are certainly above average for guards. Like Jamie Collins, he opted to rest on those numbers, according to Bryan Perez of Firstroundgrade.com. Teams were also likely looking at wide receiver Luke Tasker, but he isn’t considered too likely to get drafted.
Other teams to hold pro days Friday included Florida Atlantic, Montana, Northern Illinois, and Wofford, but none of those schools have players likely to get selected.
