Through two seasons under Andy Reid, the Kansas City Chiefs have won 20 games and made the playoffs once, but they haven't won in the postseason yet -- and, as Joel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride points out, they've been treading water in the trenches for two offseasons running now. Which is precisely why he has the Chiefs picking another offensive lineman in the first round of our 2015 NFL mock draft.
2015 NFL mock draft: Andrus Peat to Kansas City Chiefs at No. 18
The Kansas City Chiefs have lost several offensive linemen in free agency over the past two offseasons, and there’s a good chance that they’ll replenish their depth there in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
18. Chiefs: Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

Thorman: We considered the top-ranked offensive tackle and corner remaining. Due to the Chiefs’ offensive line problems last year, Andrus Peat is the pick. The Chiefs’ two candidates to start at right tackle -- Donald Stephenson and Jeff Allen -- are entering the final years of their contracts. The Chiefs have made it clear over the past two years that they will let their offensive linemen hit free agency before paying them (Rodney Hudson, Geoff Schwartz, Jon Asamoah, Branden Albert as examples). That means they’ll need a Stephenson and Allen replacement by next season. Enter Peat, who has a path to the field after the first year. He’s also a bit of insurance on the left side depending on how Eric Fisher’s development goes.
Dan Kadar, SBNation.com: There should be little hope in Donald Stephenson suddenly becoming a quality player in his fourth season. He couldn’t beat out late trading camp addition Ryan Harris and was suspended the first four games of last season. A player like Peat would be an upgrade in player quality for the Chiefs. He could start on the right side straight away, or even push Eric Fisher for the starting left tackle job.
