2015 NFL mock draft: Breshad Perriman to San Francisco 49ers at No. 46

Could Breshad Perriman be the long-term foil to Torrey Smith in San Francisco?

In the first round of our 2015 NFL mock draft, David Fucillo of Niners Nation picked up Texas defensive lineman Malcom Brown for his San Francisco 49ers. Now that that's out of the way, he's flipping over to the offense for his second-round pick, narrowing in on further making over the team's wide receiver corps.

37. 49ers: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana

Fucillo: The 49ers signed Torrey Smith in free agency, but Anquan Boldin is entering his walk year, and Bruce Ellington and Quinton Patton are question marks. Some have the 49ers looking at Amari Cooper and DeVante Parker in the first round, but if Perriman could slide to them in the second round, that would be quite the coup. Perriman has the speed to be a long-term deep threat opposite Smith, and would give Colin Kaepernick one more big weapon. The 49ers have talked about being a run-heavy team, but they would be foolish not to continue building out the vertical game.

Dan Kadar, SBNation.com: There has been a lot of discussion about Perriman being a first-round pick, but this range is more appropriate. For all the things there are to like about Perriman -- his size and speed combo, namely -- his flaws are maddening. His hands are spotty, and his route running is suspect. But when he’s on, Perriman is a true No. 1 receiving option. The talent is there; he just has to consistently harness it, which hasn’t happened yet.
