Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had himself a game in the AFC Championship. In arguably the toughest test in the conference -- at New England -- the Ravens signal-caller rose to the occasion and out-dueled future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
Joe Flacco delivers for the Ravens, Super Bowl-bound in 5th year
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had a tremendous performance against the Patriots in the AFC Championship, throwing 3 touchdowns without an interception.
The Baltimore defense did its job, but the game was going to come down to Flacco and whether or not he could execute for this offense.
The Ravens went into this one knowing they were going to have to score points, and they did so, racking up four touchdowns in Foxboro. Flacco made elite throws and showed confidence in his receivers to attack the football. The Ravens had a balanced game plan that proved to be efficient, but it was truly Flacco’s contributions that got this team over the hump.
Sunday's win at Gillette Stadium marked Flacco's sixth road playoff win, which is more than Joe Montana, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Brett Favre and Steve Young. Flacco finished with 240 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions in the big win.
Flacco’s emergence is the primary reason why the Ravens have a legitimate shot to win the Super Bowl this year.
