Houston Texans opponents 2026: Who’s on the schedule, how easy or hard will their schedule be

The Texans already know their 2026 opponent. Here’s what it means for their playoff chances next year.

The Houston Texans are going to the NFL Playoffs for the third straight year. After a pair of 10-7 seasons, the Texans took a step forward by finishing this year 12-5. It feels like no one really believes in the Texans as a Super Bowl contender yet, but a ferocious defense gives them a chance in every game. With a very good young core led by Will Anderson and CJ Stroud, the Texans seem built to last going forward, and that’s bad news for their 2026 opponents.

Houston’s full 2026 schedule is not out yet, but their opponents are known for next year now that the season is over. The Texans will play eight home games and nine road games. Houston will hope it can improve its offense over the offseason before it takes on this second-place schedule, because its defense is already one of the game’s best.

Here’s the full list of Texans 2026 opponents:

Houston Texans schedule analysis

It’s nice not to have a first-place schedule. That should be the Texans’ biggest takeaway after facing back-to-back first place schedules the last two years. While the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2026 slate looks super difficult, Houston’s is much more palatable … at least it looks that way a year out.

Houston will have some easy wins on the schedule with the Titans and Giants visiting them at home. The hardest home game feels like it will be against the Bills or the Ravens despite both of those teams having down years by their lofty standards this year. The road schedule has some tough games, specifically dates against the Eagles, Chargers, and Packers, but Houston should be able to be competitive in those games if nothing else.

I’d give this schedule a 5 out of 10 in terms of difficulty. The Texans should be thinking about making the playoffs for the fourth straight year.
