Welcome back to another year of the SB Nation Community Mock Draft!

As we do every draft season, all 32 NFL sites at SB Nation come together to fill out an entire first-round mock draft leading up to the actual event that takes place from April 23-25. One by one, our site managers will make their picks and provide their reasoning behind the selection. From there, I will provide further analysis on top of giving a final opinion on the pick!

Without further ado, let’s keep things rolling!

SB Nation NFL Mock Draft: With the 23rd pick the Philadelphia Eagles select ...

Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn

The Eagles admittedly have a need for a new pass rusher. They tried to re-sign Jaelan Phillips before getting priced out of his market. They've reportedly had interest in trading for Jonathan Greenard, who is said to be seeking a new contract. By drafting Faulk, they go the less expensive route as they continue to build through the trenches. Faulk's profile is intriguing; he has inside/out versatility, he's flashed production (7 sacks in 2024), he's big/athletic, and the best might only be yet to come since he's only 21 years old.

My analysis: The Eagles have always prioritized their pass rush over the years and it’s played a massive role in the franchise winning a pair of Super Bowl titles over the last decade. While the pass rushers in the highest tier have all been selected up to this point, Philadelphia still manages to nab Faulk who has been widely regarded as a raw-yet-toolsy prospect who earned immense grades in off-field areas such as leadership and character. It also helps that he’s built like the perfect modern-day edge rusher at 6’6 and 276 pounds. That’s the type of size that could be utilized both inside and out.

If there’s any staff in the NFL who you can trust to get the most out of Faulk, it’s the Eagles. I like this selection a lot.
