Broncos Vs. Chargers: (VIDEO) Mike Scifres 28-Yard Pass On Fake Punt Leads To Tying Touchdown
The Chargers have had more than their share of difficulties with punting the ball this season, with five having been blocked so far. So it’s about time something went right for them in the special teams. That came on Monday night, where a fake went for 28 yards to set up San Diego’s first score.
Mike Scifres dropped back in punt formation on the Chargers second drive. However, when he caught the snap, he flipped the ball over in his hand and scanned the middle of the field, where running back Mike Tolbert was breaking free. Scifres hit Tolbert with an impressive strike to extend the drive.
Six plays later, Philip Rivers hit Malcom Floyd on a six-yard touchdown pass to tie the game, 7-7.
