Patriots Vs. Lions: Detroit Surprising New England With 14-3 Second Quarter Lead

The Detroit Lions haven't won on Thanksgiving since the 2003 season but they're looking to change that against the New England Patriots as they take a 14-3 second quarter lead. The Lions scored on a WR Calvin Johnson touchdown reception and a RB Maurice Morris run.

Johnson’s touchdown 19-yard touchdown reception came at the end of the first quarter giving the Lions a 7-3 lead over the Patriots.

The Lions forced a Patriots punt and got the ball back driving 63 yards in 13 plays culminating in a RB Maurice Morris touchdown run. The Lions had a fourth and goal from the Patriots two and got the first down on a Shaun Hill QB sneak before Morris punched it in for the 14-3 lead.

QB Tom Brady is getting hit hard and has already been sacked by Lions DT Ndamukong Suh.

It’s still the first half but the Lions are making things interesting. Check out Pats Pulpit and Pride of Detroit for more on the game.
