After a hot start and a 17-10 first half lead, the Lions looked primed to change their fortunes on Thanksgiving. But Tom Brady and the Patriots came out firing in the second half, and the Lions were no match for the Patriots holiday attack.

A great kick return from Stefan Logan got the Lions started, and some more magic between Shaun Hill and Calvin Johnson took them the rest of the way. Maurice Morris finished the drive with a short touchdown run, and it looked like the Lions had re-gained control.

Johnson’s touchdown 19-yard touchdown reception came at the end of the first quarter giving the Lions a 7-3 lead over the Patriots.
The Lions forced a Patriots punt and got the ball back driving 63 yards in 13 plays culminating in a RB Maurice Morris touchdown run. The Lions had a fourth and goal from the Patriots two and got the first down on a Shaun Hill QB sneak before Morris punched it in for the 14-3 lead.

The New England Patriots struck first with an eight-yard, 41-yard drive that resulted in a field goal giving them a 3-0 lead but the Lions came roaring back at the end of the first quarter notching a Shaun-Hill-to-Calvin-Johnson touchdown pass that gives them a 7-3 lead after one quarter.
Defensively, the Lions’ Ndamukong Suh has already notched a sack, his eighth of the year.

Did we really think Brady wouldn’t play? He didn’t practice this week so there was some concern but over the years we’ve learned Brady’s status isn’t affected much by whether he’s on the injury report or not. No one is quite sure what the foot injury is but it apparently doesn’t matter if he’ll play.
