The third time was the charm for Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Carson Palmer. After being picked-off twice in New York Jets’ territory — both while looking for Terrell Owens — Palmer tried something different, hitting Jordan Shipley for five yards and the go-ahead score late in the second quarter. The touchdown pass capped a 10 play, 63 yard touchdown drive in which the Bengals finally got going on offense.
Bengals Vs. Jets: Carson Palmer Wakes Up, Grabs Halftime Lead, 7-3
Nick Folk returned to his inconsistent ways on the Jets’ next possession, their final of the half. After quarterback Mark Sanchez ran a near-perfect one-minute offense, gaining 43 yards in just 26 seconds, Folk shanked a 44-yard field goal, missing wide left just before the half. The field goal would’ve cut the deficit to one and given the Jets some momentum heading into the locker room.
It’s halftime at The Meadowlands and the Bengals lead the Jets, 7-3.
