The Indianapolis Colts walked out of Tennessee with a big 30-28 road victory over the Titans. Going on the road and winning is no easy task, especially when your quarterback has thrown 11 interceptions in the last three games like Colts QB Peyton Manning has. SB Nation's Stampede Blue describes Manning's day as HUGE. He was 25-of-35 for 319 yards and two touchdowns but he was able to mount a three-score lead over the Titans early, which was significant for the Colts.
Colts Vs. Titans: Peyton Manning, Chris Johnson Have Big Games In Indy Victory
Meanwhile, the Colts defense wasn’t good but good enough, according to Stampede Blue.
Overall, not a great night for the defense. They started well, but faded in the second half, allowing the Titans back in the game behind Chris Johnson’s 22 rushes for 111 yards. Johnson also had 8 catches for 68 yards. But, they did just enough to get the job done.
Chris Johnson is Chris Johnson. It’s why he’s one of the league’s best backs right now and he showed it again with 30 touches last night.
The Colts defense nearly blew this one -- that may have ended their season -- but they stay alive in the AFC South. Next week comes Jacksonville for the division lead. Check out Stampede Blue and Music City Miracles for more on the game.
