The New York Jets will look to recover from their 45-3 drubbing courtesy of the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football last week when they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. The Jets, 9-3, aren't in a must-win by any means but a victory would be the first step in wrapping up a playoff spot. NFL Picks Week 14: Miami Dolphins Vs. New York Jets
We all know what the Jets can do -- play solid defense and run the football. They couldn’t do that last week against New England but, then again, the Patriots are the hottest team in the NFL right now. Beating the Dolphins will be a much easier task.
The Dolphins have the 29th ranked offense so you shouldn't expect them to light up the Jets like the Patriots did.Their strength lies in the run game and the Jets strength lies in stopping the run. If the Jets can stop Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown, then the Dolphins won't have a great chance on Sunday.
The Dolphins have been the model of inconsistency this season. Since Oct. 4 they’ve lost then won, lost then won, and so on. They lost last week so that trend would suggest a victory over New York but we don’t see that happening. The Jets, coming off of a loss, should be able to take care of business against the Dolphins.
The Jets are six point favorites and we think they’ll win by more than that. With a possible playoff spot on the line, the Jets will come out strong.
