In a must-win game on Monday Night Football, the Baltimore Ravens will be missing key receiving threat Todd Heap, who is inactive against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury.
Monday Night Football, Ravens Vs. Texans: Todd Heap Inactive
Heap was injured on the first play from scrimmage in last week’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Like last week, he’ll be replaced in the lineup by rookie tight end Ed Dickson, who caught three passes for 21 yards in his stead. His being out is a blow for Baltimore’s steady passing attack; entering MNF, Heap is third on the team in receiving yards (546) and second in receiving touchdowns (five).
Still, we’re talking about the Houston Texans here; Houston is still, by a rather considerable margin, the worst passing defense in the league. There should be plenty of room to operate for Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the aforementioned Dickson; clearly, the Ravens aren’t hurting for weapons, as they also throw frequently to running back Ray Rice. Don’t expect any sort of statistical dip for Joe Flacco, even as he’s about to play without his security blanket.
