What a shame.
Monday Night Football, Ravens Vs. Texans: Josh Wilson Pick-Six Gives Ravens 34-28 OT Win
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub played a phenomenal second half in helping his team erase a 28-7 Baltimore Ravens lead and force overtime. Once he got to overtime, however, he made a season-crushing error, throwing an interception to Baltimore’s Josh Wilson that was promptly returned 12 yards for the game-winning touchdown.
Baltimore should feel lucky tonight. After opening up a 21-0 lead in the first half and extending their lead to 28-7 when David Reed returned the opening kickoff of the second half 103 yards for a touchdown, the Ravens folded like a tent - offensively and defensively. The Ravens couldn’t get anything going offensively, and the Texans scored on five straight possessions, including two touchdowns and a two-point conversion on back-to-back 99 and 96-yard drives in the fourth quarter to draw even.
Schaub, who was terrible in the first half, finished the game 31 of 62 for 393 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions, including the pick that decided the game. In what was nearly a career-defining comeback for Schaub, he made perhaps a career-defining error - and certainly one that derails the post-season hopes of the now 5-8 Texans.
Baltimore improves to 9-4 on the season, and they’ve kept pace with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North. But barely.
