Joe Flacco and Derrick Mason are having a great performance on Monday Night Football - and the Baltimore Ravens continue to get a lot of help from the oh-so-generous Houston Texans.
Monday Night Football, Ravens Vs. Texans: Joe Flacco, Derrick Mason Connect For Second TD
Flacco found Mason for a 26-yard touchdown with under two minutes remaining in the first half to extend Baltimore’s commanding MNF lead to 21-0. It is the second touchdown connection between the two players this evening, and the two have combined for four receptions, 59 yards and the two scores in the first half tonight. That total might have been much higher had Mason not dropped a beautifully-executed deep ball off of play-action in the first quarter.
Baltimore’s third touchdown of the evening was set up by a Matt Schaub interception that glanced off the hands of tight end Owen Daniels. Chris Carr caught the deflected pass, setting the Ravens up at Houston’s 38; it’s the second TD drive of the night for Baltimore that started in Houston territory. Amobi Okoye was also flagged for being offside on the drive, and the Texans have committed five critical penalties already on the evening.
Schaub is having a horrid outing, having completed just four of his first 14 passes with the interception and two sacks. His poor performance is undoing some good work from Arian Foster (10 carries, 52 yards).
