On their first possession of the second half - immediately after allowing a 103-yard kickoff return touchdown to the Baltimore Ravens, falling behind 28-7 - the Houston Texans put together a nice drive to get deep into Baltimore territory.
Monday Night Football, Ravens Vs. Texans: Houston’s Blunders Continue To Pile Up
Jacoby Jones then dropped a touchdown pass, the Texans settled for a 24-yard Neil Rackers field goal, and Texans fans taking in Monday Night Football at Reliant Stadium are more than a little upset.
Arian Foster rushed for 22 yards on the scoring drive, upping his total to 74 rushing yards on 16 carries on the evening. Jones hauled in a 26-yard pass on a crossing route, and Owen Daniels brought down an 11-yard pass as well. The score might have been 28-14 when Schaub fit a ball between two Ravens defenders to a wide-open Jones, but Jones couldn’t hang on as he went to his back, and subsequently the turf, trying to make the catch.
Seven minutes remain in the third quarter, and given the way the Texans continue to make mistakes and hand the Ravens opportunities, to say their climb is “uphill” would be a severe understatement.
