The New York Giants will host the Washington Redskins on Sunday and if you believe NFL odds it's going to be a New York victory. The 7-4 Giants are favored by seven points against the 5-6 Redskins. Washington's season is basically on the line in this game. Any hope they have of making the playoffs would likely have to include winning out -- even then, 10 wins isn't guaranteed a playoff spot.
NFL Picks, Week 13: Washington Redskins Vs. New York Giants
So Washington needs this game as they hope to find some sort of consistency in their season. The Redskins are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 12 in a game that saw them score only 13 points. If the Redskins are to beat the Giants, they'll need to improve on their 25th ranked scoring offense.
Washington’s defense hasn’t fared much better ranking 21st in points scored but dead last in yards given up. That may be a problem against the Giants who hold the league’s sixth ranked scoring offense, ninth ranked passing offense and sixth ranked rushing offense. They can do a lot of different things really well.
The Giants won five in a row at one point this season but have since lost two of their last three as they enter the week. New York needs a victory to hang with the Philadelphia Eagles, who play on Thursday Night Football, in the NFC East.
I think you’re safe to go with the NFL odds and take the Giants over the Redskins, who are consistently inconsistent. Check out Hogs Haven and Big Blue View for more on the game.
