Texans Vs. Eagles: Michael Vick Leads Philadelphia To Thursday Night Football Victory, 34-24

It was the Michael Vick show in Philadelphia as the Eagles dropped the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football, 34-24. Vick was everywhere for Philadelphia, throwing for 302 yards, two touchdowns while rushing for another 51 yards and a touchdown. He did throw an uncharacteristic interception in the second half, just his second of the year, but also his second in as many games.

The Eagles came flying out of the gates, with Vick hitting Desean Jackson for 30 yards on the first play from scrimmage. Philadelphia found the end zone on its first two possession with a Houston field goal sandwiched in-between. With a 20-10 halftime lead, it looked like Philadelphia was in control and about to run away with the game.

The Texans made it a game in the second half, scoring consecutive touchdowns in the third quarter to take a four point lead into the final 15 minutes. Again it was Vick answering, finding the end zone from two yards and hitting fullback Owen Schmitt for five yards and a touchdown on the next drive to seal the game.

LeSean McCoy had another all-around day, rushing for 44 yards and a touchdown while catching eight passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. Jackson added 84 yards on three catches as Philadelphia’s big-play threat.

Matt Schaub was impressive in his own right for the Texans, passing for 337 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Andre Johnson led all receivers with a game-high 149 yards on six catches. Arian Foster carried the ball 21 times for 83 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles improved to 8-2 with the win and move-on to face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday. The Texans fell to 5-7 with the loss. Houston hosts the Baltimore Ravens on Dec. 13 for Monday Night Football.
