The Houston Texans started off the second half in their game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football with two third quarter touchdowns making some think this team might be able to pull one out on the road against a very good team. But those people have been wrong.
Thursday Night Football, Texans Vs. Eagles: Houston Is Consistently Inconsistent
The Texans fell 34-24 to the Eagles Thursday night and once again we saw the consistently inconsistent Texans show up. They flashed brilliance -- 24 plays and over 12 minutes resulted in two third quarter touchdowns -- and then they stunk it up allowing Michael Vick and Co. to come back.
SB Nation’s Battle Red Blog agrees with the inconsistent assessment of the Texans.
Like most Kubiak-led Texans teams, Houston was simply inconsistent. They started slow, heated up, cooled off, and just cannot find that consistent 60-minutes that good teams have. Yes, they could still be a game out of the division lead if Jacksonville and Indianapolis lose loseable games on Sunday, but the Texans would have to reel off four straight wins to make anything happen. It’s hard to see this inconsistent team be that consistent.
The Texans now fall to 5-7 on the year, awaiting the results of Jaguars and Colts game this weekend to see where they stand in the AFC South. They could conceivably be just a game back if both those teams lose but it's looking like the consistently inconsistent Texans may be watching the playoffs from home again.
