Meeting Between Jenn Sterger, Roger Goodell Gets Heated

The Jenn Sterger and Brett Favre saga has carried on for months, and even though the NFL ended their investigation two weeks ago, Sterger met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over the weekend. The two-hour meeting became heated, possibly due to the fact that there may be no action taken by the NFL against Favre.

Sterger’s representatives feel that the only way to have her name cleared is if Favre is shown to have violated the league’s Personal Conduct Policy stemming from his interactions with her. Sterger has also said that she would not pursue a case based on sexual harassment or a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy if Goodell were to discipline Favre and implement a league-wide sexual harassment policy.

Goodell is expected to make a decision on the matter before the season ends. That is an important date, because Favre has already said he intends to retire. If this goes past the end of the season, then there is no punishment that the NFL can place upon a retired Favre.
