Brett Favre Expected To Be Fined By NFL For Jenn Sterger Case

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the NFL is expected to discipline Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre for his role in the case involving Jenn Sterger. Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports Commissioner Roger Goodell will fine Favre today or tomorrow but he will not be suspended.

The Vikings season ends next week, anyway, so if he were suspended, that would likely end his career.

Favre reportedly sent inappropriate text messages to then-fellow Jets employee Jenn Sterger. Both sides have met with the NFL and it wasn't known where the NFL stood on the issue. Apparently they found Favre guilty, thus the discipline.

For Favre, this would be a sad end to a sad season. He's been embroiled in this controversy as the Vikings made their way to a losing record and missed the playoffs. Favre missed Tuesday night's game against the Eagles with a concussion and he has yet to be cleared so, for now, his status for Week 17 would appear to be questionable.

Favre has said repeatedly that he plans to retire at the end of the year. If he can’t return next week, then our final memories of him will be getting fined by the league and laying on the turf as he was knocked out of the game in Week 15. Not the way most of us thought he would go out.
