The question about whether Tim Tebow will start the Broncos’ final game of the season against the Chargers, in addition to this weekend’s showdown with the Texans, appears to have been answered. Former starting quarterback Kyle Orton said Tebow has gotten the nod for both games.
Tim Tebow Will Start Vs. Chargers In Addition To Texans, Says Kyle Orton
“I said I’d like to finish the season. That wasn’t the option that was presented,” said Orton, who signed an extension through 2011 last summer. “I don’t know if I’ll be here next year. We’ll just have to wait and see what shakes out with the organization.”
Tebow seems to realize that this is more of a tryout than anything else; if the Broncos see some more promising things on the field over the next two weeks, it could give him a shot at his dream of being a regular starting quarterback in the league. Then again, nothing is certain until a new regime is named after the season comes to a close. If nothing else, it gives Broncos fans a reason to watch the end of a disappointing season.
