NFL Week 16 Scores And Results: Lions Rally Past Dolphins, 34-27

Neither the Lions or Dolphins had any playoff ramifications on the line in their game this Sunday. But Detroit staged a playoff-caliber comeback late.

Down 27-17 early in the fourth quarter, the Lions scored 17 unanswered points in 2:26 late in the period, capped by DeAndre Levy’s go-ahead interception return for a touchdown with just over two minutes remaining, and defeated the Dolphins 34-27.

The Lions won despite being outgained by 150 yards, partly because they committed no turnovers to Miami’s three. Shaun Hill continued his strong play in relief of the injured Matthew Stafford, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns.

Brandon Marshall had 10 catches for 102 yards in the loss. The Dolphins fell to 1-7 at home this season with the loss.

Both teams had previously been eliminated from playoff contention, so the only thing at stake was NFL Draft positioning. The Lions’ win moved them to 5-10, while the Dolphins’ loss makes Miami 7-8 on the year.
