Dez Bryant Injury: Surgery On Broken Ankle Ends Season

It’s official: The ankle injury that knocked Dez Bryant out of the Cowboys’ game against the Colts on Sunday will end the rookie wide receiver’s season with four games to go. Dallas says Bryant will need four months to rehab the ankle after undergoing surgery Monday.

“He’s going to come back bigger and better than ever,” interim coach Jason Garrett said. “He just continues to grow (as a player). You feel badly that he’s not going to have these last four games to continue that development, but there’s no question that he’s made great strides.”

Bryant has been one of the few bright spots in a disappointing season in Dallas, which began with hopes of a Super Bowl and now ends with both the quarterback and the most dynamic player on the team recovering from injuries.
