The Bears wasted little time in taking a lead on the upstart Seahawks in their NFL playoffs clash.
NFL Playoffs, Seahawks Vs. Bears: Jay Cutler Finds Greg Olsen For First Touchdown
Jay Cutler went deep to Greg Olsen, who blew by Seattle’s secondary, for the game’s first touchdown. Olsen’s 58-yard touchdown reception came on the Bears’ first third down of the day. Robbie Gould converted the point after for the Bears’ 7-0 lead in the first quarter of this NFC divisional round playoff game.
Seahawks safety Lawyer Milloy was the defensive back dusted on the play.
The pass was Cutler’s first playoff touchdown in his first playoff game. Worries about whether the Bears’ mercurial signal-caller would be awful throughout his postseason debut were clearly unfounded.
But with snowflakes swirling at Soldier Field and more than three quarters left, there is plenty of time for one of Cutler’s traditional moments of stupefying failure.
And Bears fans thinking an early lead ensures victory ought to think again: the Saints led Seattle 10-0 in their Wild Card Weekend defeat.
