Oh, so now Jay Cutler’s going to make plays with his feet for the Bears?
Bears Score Third Touchdown On Jay Cutler Scramble, Seahawks’ NFL Playoffs Run On Life Support
Cutler scrambled left and bulled his way past Seahawks defenders into the end zone on a six-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter at Soldier Field, and the Robbie Gould extra point made the score 21-0, Bears.
Both Cutler and his tight end, Greg Olsen, have been fantastic in the early going. Olsen has three catches for 113 yards and a touchdown, while Cutler’s completed five of nine passes for 144 yards and a touchdown and run in the most recent score. This bodes well for the Bears’ chances to advance to an NFC Championship Game against the Packers — setting up the first playoff matchup between the NFC North archrivals in over half a century — and very, very poorly for Pete Carroll’s surprising Seahawks.
Can you imagine the Seahawks coming back from being down 21-0 on the road in the snow against the Bears’ defense? Neither can I.
It’s not over yet, and there’s a chance that Matt Hasselbeck could channel Frank Reich. But the Seahawks need to show some signs of life, and soon, or the Bears are going to cruise in this one.
