The Baltimore Ravens are slowly but surely putting themselves in position to improve their playoff standing. RB Ray Rice ran in a seven-yard touchdown to give Baltimore a 13-0 edge against the Cincinnati Bengals with about 17 minutes to go.
Bengals Vs. Ravens: Ray Rice Gives Baltimore Two-Score Lead, Jerome Simpson Gets It Back
But the Bengals responded with their first scoring drive of the game, with WR Jerome Simpson following up on last week’s 124-yard, two-touchdown performance by grabbing an 11-yard score from QB Carson Palmer. Simpson has 10 catches on 12 targets for 89 yards — if not for his fumble earlier, he’d be a clear candidate for Cincy’s player of the game.
The Ravens now lead 13-7 with about 12 minutes to go. The Bengals have outgained the Ravens, but have also doubled up Baltimore’s turnover total. Palmer threw a second pick to Ed Reed to supplement his earlier INT.
