Bengals Vs. Ravens: Baltimore Hangs On 13-7 Against Cincinnati

The Baltimore Ravens did all they could in week 17 to improve their playoff standing, winning a 13-7 squeaker over the Cincinnati Bengals, but the Pittsburgh Steelers beatdown of the Cleveland Browns meant the win didn’t have any playoff implications.

The Ravens put together a 13-0 lead and held it until the early fourth quarter, but the Bengals scored on a pass from Carson Palmer to Jerome Simpson and had two different drives come close late. One ended near the red zone on a fumble, and another made it all the way to the goal line with seconds left.

Simpson was today’s breakout star, with 12 catches on 14 targets for 123 yards, nearly topping his 124-yard high set last week.

The Bengals finish the year 4-12 and will monitor the Denver Broncos game tonight to find out where they’ll wind up in the NFL Draft order. The Ravens finish with the AFC’s No. 5 seed and could travel to meet either the Indianapolis Colts or Jacksonville Jaguars.
