The 7-9 Seattle Seahawks Are Playoff-Bound After 16-6 Snoozefest Victory Over Rams

The Seattle Seahawks will become the first team with a losing record to win their division and head to the playoffs. The Seahawks beat the St. Louis Rams on Sunday Night Football pushing their record to 7-9, even with the Rams. The Seahawks held the tiebreaker so they get the playoff nod and will now be hosting the New Orleans Saints in the wildcard round next week.

John Morgan of SB Nation’s Field Gulls says the Seahawks should start QB Charlie Whitehurst over QB Matt Hasselbeck next week against the Saints.

The St. Louis Rams had a rookie quarterback, they were on the road and hadn’t had a winning since 2003. Yet they were the favorites heading into the Sunday Night Football matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately for St. Louis, their rookie quarterback played like a rookie completing 19-of-36 passes for just 155 yards and a late interception.

Disappointing, frustrating and angry are the feelings we’re seeing at Turf Show Times this morning.

Olindo Mare finished the game with ten points after going three for three on field goals and kicking an extra point.

The Seahawks will host defending champion New Orleans, the NFC’s fifth seed, on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (et). Feel free to begin complaining about the fact that a 7-9 team is hosting an 11-5 one, or perhaps complain about the complainers. Whichever you like.
