After news broke that Jeff Fisher was leaving the Tennessee Titans as head coach, the speculation on his next stop began. An early suggestion was the defensive coordinator position with the Philadelphia Eagles. At first glance, the move made sense because the Eagles had a need.
Jeff Fisher To Eagles? ‘Highly Unlikely’, Agent Says
But that move is “highly unlikely” -- this according to Fisher’s agent.
The problem with picking Fisher’s next landing spot is that it’s late in the hiring season assistant coaches. Not many teams, at this point, need a coordinator, or a head coach. Fisher is respected enough that someone could make a change to get him on their staff but right now we have no clue who that would be.
Fisher has a defensive background so any non-head coach job would presumably be a defensive coordinator position.
