Jeff Fisher and the Tennessee Titans conducted a conference call officially announcing Fisher was leaving the organization. Included in the call, among others, were Fisher and owner Bud Adams, who phoned in.
Jeff Fisher May Be Taking A Year Off From Coaching
Fisher said all good things must come to an end and expressed gratitude for the 17 years in Tennessee. He said he’s at peace with the decision and declined to comment on specifics when asked about his departure. Adams said the departure wasn’t personal.
Fisher also sounded like he would take a year off from coaching.
"I've been coaching for 25 years and I think I'm tired. I need rest."
He said coaches of his tenure that take a year off return as three times better coaches than they were.
So those questions of where Fisher may go next probably won’t be applicable until after the 2011 season if he does indeed take a year off.
The Titans also confirmed they still plan to trade or release Vince Young.
