Bengals Confirm Marvin Lewis Returning In 2011
The Marvin Lewis show will continue in Cincinnati. Despite recent reports that talks between Lewis and the Cincinnati Bengals had turned around, the team announced Lewis had signed a deal to return to the team in 2011.
Lewis’ contract with the Bengals had run out at the end of the season causing some to think he’d be moving on from Cincinnati. Then on Tuesday morning it was reported that Lewis was expected to remain with the Bengals in 2011. By Tuesday afternoon, the story had turned to the two sides breaking down in negotiations and Lewis leaving without a contract in place.

On Tuesday reports emerged that the Cincinnati Bengals would likely be retaining head coach Marvin Lewis heading into the 2011 season. Because Lewis’ contract had run out at the end of the season, there was speculation he wouldn’t be back. But ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the two sides were working on a deal and they were optimistic he would return in 2011.
That’s not the case anymore.
