Bengals Confirm Marvin Lewis Returning In 2011

The Marvin Lewis show will continue in Cincinnati. Despite recent reports that talks between Lewis and the Cincinnati Bengals had turned around, the team announced Lewis had signed a deal to return to the team in 2011.

Lewis’ contract with the Bengals had run out at the end of the season causing some to think he’d be moving on from Cincinnati. Then on Tuesday morning it was reported that Lewis was expected to remain with the Bengals in 2011. By Tuesday afternoon, the story had turned to the two sides breaking down in negotiations and Lewis leaving without a contract in place.

Apparently they have met and worked something out. It’s unclear the length of the deal or any stipulations involved. Lewis reportedly wanted upgrades to the team facilities and some sort of changes in the personnel department.

Lewis will return to the team he’s coached since 2003.
