On Friday, it was reported that Brian Reed, brother of Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed, has gone missing. Police reported that Brian Reed, in an apparent attempt to elude arrest, jumped into the Mississippi River. Authorities have yet to find any evidence that he has re-surfaced. From New Orleans’ WWL-TV:
Ed Reed’s Brother Missing; Ravens Safety May Not Travel With Team To Playoff Game Vs. Chiefs
The suspect jumped into the river, went about 15 feet according to the deputy,” said Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. “At some particular point they said he did witness hands and head come up and go under the water and never resurface again.”
Deputies say Reed stopped his car on the side of River Road. His car matched the description of a vehicle they say almost ran another driver off the road.
Deputies later determined Reed may have been driving a stolen car.
LaGrange said just as officers were cuffing Reed, he took off running.
Understandably, Ed Reed may not be traveling to Kansas City with his Ravens for Sunday’s playoff game against the Chiefs. Jason La Canfora reports:

This incident, of course, is far more important than any playoff game could be, and we are hoping the best for Brian Reed and his family. Until we learn more, let’s briefly turn to implications for Sunday’s game: if Ed Reed, one of the Ravens’ greatest assets, is unable to play, the defensive situation could be problematic for Baltimore -- especially if Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is able to play.
