If the rout isn’t on in Kansas City, it’s at the very least dangerously close.
NFL Playoffs, Ravens Vs. Chiefs: Joe Flacco Finds Anquan Boldin For Second Touchdown
A second Matt Cassel interception gave the Ravens the ball deep in Chiefs territory, and the Ravens went 31 yards in six plays to score their second touchdown of the day.
Joe Flacco found Anquan Boldin in the back of the end zone for the four-yard touchdown pass. With the extra point, the score is now 23-7 in the Chiefs’ favor.
And it might have been worse: Cassel fumbled on a hit by Lardarius Webb, and the Ravens recovered. But the Chiefs challenged the ruling on the field, and the ruling was overturned, giving the Chiefs a stay of execution of sorts.
If that play had been upheld, it would have been the Chiefs’ fourth turnover of the third quarter. As it was, the Chiefs could only run one more play in the period, and will head into the fourth quarter down by 16 after being outscored 13-0 in the third quarter.
15 minutes remain. Can the Chiefs stage a massive comeback?
