Julius Peppers Injury: Sprained MCL Has Status Of Bears DE Uncertain

Julius Peppers went down with an injury in the Chicago Bears Monday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions but later returned to finish the game. According to the Chicago Tribune, the injury he suffered was a sprained MCL.

The Bears play the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 and it's unclear if Peppers will be available. The report status that the severity of the sprain is unclear but it's not believed to be serious.

MCL sprains can keep players out anywhere from a week to several weeks so it’s possible he misses Sunday night’s game against the Vikings. But, as the Chicago Tribune reports, he has yet to be ruled out of that game so we really don’t know.

The Bears will practice on Wednesday in preparation for the Vikings game and we’ll have a better idea of Peppers’ status then. By Friday, they’ll have to declare his status and I would guess, if they’re uncertain if he’ll play, he woud be listed as questionable.
