NFL Odds And Lines Week 6: Texans Vs. Ravens

The battered Houston Texans are touchdown underdogs on the road against a rested Baltimore Ravens squad. The Texans will be without Mario Williams, who was placed on injured reserve with a torn pectoral earlier this week.

The Houston Texans had the misfortune last week of catching an emotionally-charged Oakland Raiders squad just one day after the passing of longtime owner Al Davis. The result was a 25-20 loss, as well as the loss of Mario Williams for the season, who left the game in the first quarter with a pectoral tear. Bruised and battered, the Texans will try and challenge a Baltimore Ravens' squad that is coming off a week of rest and playing at home. Unsurprisingly, Vegas doesn't look to kindly on the Texans, setting the Ravens as 7½-point favorites.

The Texans should also be without Andre Johnson for at least another week or two, leaving Houston without arguably their two best players on either side of the ball. Matt Schaub is banged up as well with a sore shoulder and thigh bruise. At least Arian Foster should be available again though he has been limited in practice with a lingering quad injury. Against a Ravens' defense leading the league in total defense and allowing just 72.5 yards per game on the ground, Foster alone may not be enough.

The Ravens are much healthier and historically have done well coming off a bye week, going 8-1 against the spread coming off a week of rest over the past nine seasons. Running back Ray Rice should once again be key to the Ravens' offensive attack against a Texans' defense allowing 105 yards per game on the ground.
