The Oakland Raiders might be in the market for a new quarterback after Jason Campbell broke his collarbone, which could cost him the rest of the 2011 NFL season. The Raiders have been connected to a couple of quarterbacks -- Carson Palmer and David Garrard -- but the most intriguing possibility could come within their own division.
Broncos Could Be Open To Kyle Orton Trade If Raiders Call
The Denver Post reports that, if the Raiders come calling about Kyle Orton, the Broncos would listen.
Orton wouldn’t really fit in well with the Raiders downfield passing attack but he’s about as good as you can get six weeks into the season. The Raiders are 4-2 and still in the thick of the hunt in the AFC West while the Broncos are 1-4 and essentially out of any division title talk.
There’s no word on what Orton might cost but a mid round pick for an average quarterback in the final year of his contract makes sense.
