NFL Trade Deadline: Raiders, Broncos Will Be Active In AFC West

The AFC West has two teams that could be among the most active at the NFL trade deadline in the Raiders and Broncos. Click here for all of our NFL trade rumors.

The NFL trade deadline comes on Tuesday afternoon and two of the most active teams could reside in the AFC West. The Oakland Raiders might be on the lookout for a quarterback after Jason Campbell suffered what is believed to be a season-ending injury and the Denver Broncos have already been active trading Brandon Lloyd to the Rams and may see more action for backup Kyle Orton.

The San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs don't figure to be active heading into the deadline. The Chargers are in first place and look like the best team in the division while the Chiefs, 2-3, are trying to figure out if they'll be competitive this season.

San Diego Chargers

Team needs: tight end, safety, outside linebacker

The Chargers could be in the market for a tight end, depending on Antonio Gates' health. The veteran tight end has been suffering from a foot injury all season missing several games. The Chargers also lost Bob Sanders for the season so another strong safety could be a possibility, depending on how they view Steve Gregory. SB Nation's Bolts From The Blue says a move at outside linebacker is unlikely but they wouldn't mind seeing the team make a run for the right player.

Potential targets: Anthony Fasano, Benjamin Watson, Adrian Wilson and Cameron Wake

It seems unlikely any trade will happen but the Chargers have been active at the deadline in the past.

Oakland Raiders

Team needs: quarterback

The Raiders are 4-2 and have a solid roster that can legitimately make a run in the AFC West. With Jason Campbell's injury, they need a quarterback, one that can start. Quarterbacks aren't on the market very often so this would be a difficult trade to get done but it's something they need to look at.

Potential targets: Kyle Orton, Carson Palmer

The Raiders reportedly reached out to Palmer, and that trade seems unlikely. They’ve also been connected to Orton through some random trade rumors but it’s unclear if there’s any legitimate interest there.

Kansas City Chiefs

Team needs: safety, running back

The Chiefs enter the trade deadline at 2-3 and somehow still in the AFC West race despite an 89-10 shellacking in the first two weeks of the season. Their two main needs -- safety and running back -- aren't long-term needs. Both Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry are out for the season and they could use some more depth at that position for the 2011 season.

Potential targets: none

I can’t see the Chiefs giving up draft picks for any short-term moves. They have a talented roster -- they’re just injured this year.

Denver Broncos

Team needs: draft picks

There's a thought that the Broncos will have a bit of a firesale at the deadline. We've seen the start of that with the trade of Brandon Lloyd to the Rams. Some are wondering if Kyle Orton or Eddie Royal would be available via trade in return for draft picks.

Potential targets: none

The Broncos are selling, not buying, at the trade deadline.
