Oakland Raiders QB Jason Campbell suffered a broken collarbone on Sunday and the NFL trade rumors started swirling that the Raiders would be acquiring another quarterback in his absence. Those rumors came about because many figured Campbell could be out for the entire season.
Jason Campbell Says Injury May Only Keep Him Out Six Weeks
He spoke to reporters on Monday as he exited the Raiders’ facility and indicated that he hoped to be back much sooner than that.
“I’m having surgery today. It was a tough break,” Campbell said. “I’m going to stay positive. If everything goes right I could be back in six weeks.”
That would put his return at Nov. 27 against the Chicago Bears. It seems like an optimistic timetable for his return so, if he really can get back that quickly, the Raiders may be able to go with Kyle Boller in his absence.
We’ll probably know more in the next week or so after Campbell has undergone surgery and started his rehab.
