Sam Bradford Injury: Rams QB Expected To Play Vs. Cowboys

The St. Louis Rams haven't gotten much good news this season as they're off to an 0-5 start but one good piece of information is that they're expected to have their quarterback this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. Sam Bradford suffered a high ankle sprain last weekend but is expected to start on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

High ankle sprains can sideline players anywhere from one to multiple weeks so this is somewhat of a surprise that we’re learning on Wednesday that he’ll be available. The Rams will go through practice this week and on Friday they’ll have to list his availability for the weekend.

Bradford suffered the injury in last weekend’s loss to the Green Bay Packers but finished out the game. SB Nation’s Turf Show Times tells us what the injury means for the Rams offense.

More than likely it means more work in the pocket for Bradford. Quick throws and sharp routes from his receivers will be essential if he’s going to have any chance at survival. It likely means fewer roll outs, as his mobility will surely be limited with that kind of injury.

Playing this weekend will give Bradford a chance to work with his new toy -- Brandon Lloyd. The Rams completed a deadline deal with the Denver Broncos for Lloyd's services so he and Bradford will have an opportunity to hook up this weekend.

Check out Turf Show Times for the full analysis on Bradford’s injury.
