NFL Coaches Hot Seat: Once Again, Tony Sparano Tops The List

Which NFL coaches are on the hot seat? The first two on our list are the Dolphins’ Tony Sparano and Jaguars’ Jack Del Rio.

Another week looking at the NFL coaches hot seat and another week of putting Tony Sparano at the top of the list. The Miami Dolphins head coach is running an 0-5 team and it's been widely rumored that Sparano won't be in Miami for long.

Other head coach on the hot seat include Jack Del Rio, whose Jacksonville Jaguars have lost five straight en route to another non-winning season.

Here’s a look at the hot seat for NFL coaches as we enter Week 7:

1. Tony Sparano, Miami Dolphins: He's been at the top of this list all season and after Monday night's loss to the Jets it doesn't appear that'll change. A report out of the Miami Herald suggests that this weekend's game against the Broncos will be a game that helps determine Sparano's long-term viability in Miami. It's Tim Tebow day at the Dolphins stadium so losing to the Broncos in Tebow's first start this season would be a tough pill to swallow.

2. Jack Del Rio, Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars are 1-5 and a sleeper in the Suck For Luck race. Del Rio has been there since 2003 with one playoff win (in 2007) and they're currently on a five-game skid with games coming up against the Ravens and Texans. If they lose both those games, and sit at 1-7 with seven consecutive losses, it could make for an interesting bye week in early November for the Jaguars head coach.

3. Jim Caldwell, Indianapolis Colts: The Colts are 0-6 and have games coming up at the Saints, at the Titans and home against the Falcons. That could be an 0-9 start to the season and, even with the Peyton Manning injury, there aren't very many excuses for a team starting out 0-9. The Colts have been generally competitive this year so he has that going for him -- they're not getting completely blown out each week.

4. Steve Spagnuolo, St. Louis Rams: What a disappointing season for the Rams. They won one game in Spagnuolo's first year and seven games in his second year leading some to believe this would be the breakout year and they'd win the NFC West. That couldn't be further from the truth as the Rams sit at 0-5 and are staring 0-7 in the face with games coming up against the Cowboys and Saints. It's hard to see a coach sticking around after his team takes such a significant drop-off in year three.

5. Gary Kubiak, Houston Texans: The Texans are right in the middle of the AFC South race so there's no indication a move would happen anytime soon but the Texans have now lost three of their last four games after starting 3-1. They have a huge game this weekend against the Titans that could help determine the future in the AFC South but the Texans have to make it to the playoffs for Kubiak to survive. It's that simple.
