The quarterback position in the 2011 NFL season has been oddly consistent for the first few weeks. In fact, through the first five weeks of the season, 30 of the 32 NFL teams had started the same quarterback for every game, which was an NFL record (previous high was 27 in 2003).
John Beck, Carson Palmer, Tim Tebow Among New Starting QBs In Week 7
That’s going to change quite a bit in Week 7 as we could see as many as six new quarterbacks in.
In Washington, the Redskins are replacing Rex Grossman with John Beck after Grossman threw four interceptions last weekend.
In Oakland, the Raiders are bringing in Carson Palmer to start after Jason Campbell went down with an injury. Whether it's Palmer, as many believe, or Boller, it will be a new starter this week against the Chiefs.
In Minnesota, the Vikings are rolling with the rookie, Christian Ponder. He replaced Donovan McNabb in the fourth quarter last week and looked decent doing it. He's expected to be the starter the rest of the season for Minnesota.
In Denver, the Broncos are opening the Tim Tebow era. Tebow started a few games for Denver last season but head coach John Fox went with Kyle Orton in the first five weeks of the season before naming Tebow the starter before the bye week.
In St. Louis, the Rams could be without Sam Bradford, who has a high ankle sprain. Early reports say Bradford is likely to play, though.
In Seattle, the Seahawks could be rolling with Charlie Whitehurst with Tarvaris Jackson suffering from an injury.
