The trade that would have sent Ronnie Brown to the Detroit Lions for Jerome Harrison was voided on Wednesday. An injury to Harrison was the snag in the deal.
Jerome Harrison Has Brain Tumor, According To Report

Schefter reports that Harrison is not expected to play again in 2011 and the tumor is being treated. His long-term outlook on both life and his football career appear to be good, thankfully.
Schefter notes that the voided trade might have ultimately saved Harrison’s life.

Raiders strike a deal for Carson Palmer. This is clearly the headliner of the 2011 NFL trade deadline. There usually aren’t a lot of major trades made near the deadline, let alone major trades involving quarterbacks, but the Raiders and Bengals were able to come to an agreement -- a 2012 first round pick and a conditional first in 2013 -- to send Palmer to Oakland. This is one of the biggest deadline deals in NFL history.
