Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll gave the indication that Charlie Whitehurst would get the start this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns instead of injured Tarvaris Jackson when he spoke with 97.3 KIRO FM's Seattle Morning News Friday morning.
Tarvaris Jackson Injury: Seahawks Going With Charlie Whitehurst
“Charlie’s ready to go, and as far as I’m concerned he’s starting the football game, unless something turns with Tarvaris here in the next couple days,” said Carroll.
Jackson is recovering from a high-grade strain of his right pectoral against the New York Giants. That said, he has been active in practice all week and remains available if the Seahawks decide to make a switch. Carroll said Seattle has "tried to be careful" with Jackson and he will likely be listed as questionable on Sunday.
Whitehurst joins a growing list of new starters for Week 7 including Tim Tebow, Carson Palmer, John Beck, Christian Ponder and A.J. Feeley.
