Chris Cooley’s Injury Lands Him On IR, Season Is Over

Chris Cooley underwent surgery on his finger recently and it was believed that he would only miss a few weeks but the Washington Redskins announced that he has been placed on injured reserve, which means his season is over. Cooley has also had some issues with his knee since the preseason.

The question becomes now whether Cooley will ever suit up for the Redskins again, as SB Nation DC notes.

Cooley is not technically a free agent until 2014, but with his production declining and injuries piling up, many are wondering if he has played his last game as a member of the Redskins.

Cooley signed a $30 million deal prior to the 2007 season which runs through the 2013 season. He’s due approximately $7.65 million over the next two season so it wouldn’t be unheard of if they released him.

For now, though, he sits on IR and awaits his future.
