Andre Johnson Injury Update: Houston Texans Wide Receiver Hamstring Pull, Owner Bob McNair Says

During Sunday's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson left the game in the second quarter after he went down to the ground without any contact. Johnson caught a pass from Matt Schaub before he fell during mid-run and was absent for the remainder of the game.

At the time, the injury first appeared to concern his knee, but it eventually turned into a hamstring injury. After the game, Texans owner Bob McNair told reporters that Johnson had pulled his hamstring:

“He is going to get an MRI and we’ll see. He pulled a hamstring and hopefully it won’t keep him out too long, but we’ll just have to see on that one.”

Head coach Gary Kubiak wasn’t as definitive as McNair, saying that the injury is “hamstring related.”

Johnson caught four passes for 36 yards before the injury. Johnson did return to the sidelines during the fourth quarter, but he was without pads. He has 25 receptions for 352 yards, which is leaps and bounds ahead of his fellow receivers. Tight end Owen Daniels is second on the team in receptions and yards with 14 catches for 182 yards. Daniels does lead the team with three touchdown receptions.
