The New Orleans Saints will head to Bank of America Stadium on Sunday to take on Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in what might well end up in a shootout between two of the more high-octane offenses in the NFL so far this season. The oddsmakers decided currently believe the Saints are seven-point favorites and this week's NFL picks don't disagree with that sentiment.
NFL Picks And Predictions Week 5: Saints Vs. Panthers
This week’s NFL picks and predictions for the game between the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers favor the team led by veteran gunslinger Drew Brees, not rookie Cam Newton.

SB Nation’s resident picker Andrew Sharp, however, has some advice that goes against that grain -- though is certainly agreeable when thinking about it.
New Orleans at Carolina (+7) ... Because this year, especially given the continued lack of respect they get from Vegas, you’ll probably make more money betting on Carolina every week than trying to guess which game they’ll self-destruct.
The experts at CBS Sports apparently assume that Newton can’t keep his performance consistent as all five of their experts picked against the Panthers this week. Considering the Carolina defense has given up an average of over 25 points per game this season, it’s pretty difficult to blame anyone for picking against them this week. The Yahoo! experts were also unanimous in their selection of the Saints as well, but that isn’t quite as surprising consider they have just three pickers on their panel.
ESPN's panel of pickers was nearly unanimous in picking a the Saints, who are led by Drew Brees and a revolving backfield that includes Pierre Thomas, Mark Ingram and Darren Sproles. The only person at the World Wide Leader that picked against the Saints on Sunday was Adam Schefter, for what it's worth.
And, if anyone was looking for a score prediction, Sports Illustrated’s Peter King has it 27-25 in favor of the Saints.
