Rashard Mendenhall Injury: Steelers RB Hasn’t Practiced

Rashard Mendenhall's status for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans is in serious jeopardy, despite earlier reports that a hamstring injury suffered last week wasn't serious. The Pittsburgh Steelers running back sat out practice Thursday after it was expected that he would participate in individual drills to test out his leg.

Even if Mendenhall is activated this week, Isaac Redman may still see a lion's share of carries. Steelers fans should breathe a little easier knowing that Redman has performed capably on 22 carries this season, averaging 4.9 yards per rush with one touchdown.

Still, the Steelers need all the help they can get going up against one of the league's hottest defenses. The Titans are allowing a league-best 14 points per game, and are giving up just 87.8 yards per game on ground. Luckily for Pittsburgh, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is fully healthy for the matchup, despite a sprained left foot suffered during last week's loss to the Houston Texans.
