The Denver Broncos won a heck of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10 but it came at a price -- Knowshon Moreno tore his ACL. Head coach John Fox indicated it was a serious injury and later confirmed it was a torn ACL. That injury will land Moreno on injured reserve.
Knowshon Moreno Injury: Broncos RB Has Torn ACL, 2011 Season is Over
Moreno went down in the game and it was originally believed to be a sprained ligament in his knee. A Monday MRI confirmed though, that the ACL was torn and his season is over.
The Broncos can use all the running backs they can get considering their offense is largely based on the run -- they threw it just eight times on Sunday -- so in that respect this injury hurts a lot. But it should also be noted that Moreno hasn’t made a major impact on the team this season with just 179 yards rushing.
Willie McGahee was also injured in Sunday’s game but his situation doesn’t seem as severe.
